Engineering Teacher Michael Richards

Route

• Michael completed an engineering apprenticeship with the aerospace division of Rolls Royce.
• Following his apprenticeship he undertook a BA in Metalwork and Jewellery.
• During his degree he took part in a student exchange to Koomin Universtiy. His final pieces produced on that course were a fascinating combination of his aerospace and silver-smithing skills - a cocktail shaker and stirrer designed with the application of fluid dynamics and aerospace turbine blade technology.
• Michael successfully completed the PGCE with an Engineering specialism at Sheffield Hallam University, taking all of this experience and practical skill into Engineering Teaching.
