• Nicola completed a modern engineering apprenticeship.
• She followed this with a degree in Plant Engineering and then over a ten-year period worked for both ICI and British Aerospace.
• Nicola gained her interest in teaching through her work with apprentices and students on industrial placement in both of these companies.
• Nicola completed the PGCE in Engineering at Liverpool John Moores University and now teaches at Birkenhead 6th form College.
